ate Professor in the Department of Biosciences and Biotechnology at Krishna University, Machilipatnam, AP, India. He earlier served as a postdoctoral research scientist at the Bacterial Pathogenesis Laboratory, Queensland Institute of Medical Research (QIMR-Berghofer Research Center), Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, and a DBT postdoctoral fellow at the Depart-ment of Microbiology and Cell Biology, Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore. He completed his Ph.D. in Microbiology from Goa University, India. Dr. Bramhachari’s major research interests include the investigation of applied research in microbiology and cell biology, including the biochemical mechanism of bacterial biofilm formations, extracellular microbial polysaccharides, and the structure-function relationship of bacterial biosurfactants (glycolipids and rhamnolipids), as well as pathogenic and virulence characteristics of bacteria in basic and translational can-cer research. He has published over 160 research articles in Scopus-indexed journals, authored and coauthored 8 international books, contributed to invited book chapters in prestigious peer-reviewed international publications, and presented 55 abstracts at various national and international conferences. He has been a reviewer and editorial board member of several interna-tional journals. He is a member of numerous international scientific societies and organizations, such as the Indian Science Congress, Society of Biotechnologists of India, the Society of Biological Chemists, India, Andhra Pradesh State Biodiversity Board, and Andhra Pradesh State Fisheries Board. He completed two major research projects for the SERB, DST NRDMS, and the Govern-ment of India. He was awarded a Travel Scholarship from QIMR in 2007, Australia, for attending the fourth Indo-Australian Biotechnology Conference in Brisbane, Australia. He was awarded a Young Scientist Travel Fellowship (2007) from the DST, Government of India, for attending the XVII Lancefield International Symposium at Porto Heli, Greece (2008). He was conferred with various prestigious awards: Science Edu-cation Research Board (SERB), Government of India-Young Scientist Award (2011) for a research project and nominated as Associate Fellow of Andhra Pradesh Academy of Sciences (APAS) (2016), Master Trainer: Andhra Pradesh English Communications Skills Proj-ect, British Council and APSCHE (2017), Andhra Pradesh State Best Scientist Award (2017), Dr. V. Ramalingaswamy Memorial Award for Biomed-ical Sciences (2019), KAPL Award (Industrial Biotech-nology), SBTI Annual Award (2022), Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Teacher Excellence Award (2022). He also obtained two Indian patents in 2017. He has more than 19 years of teaching and research experience in molecu-lar microbiology, virology and immunology, Intellec-tual Property Rights, Patent Law and Entrepreneurship in Biotechnology, bioprocess engineering, and micro-bial and environmental biotechnology at the university level.
