About

S. Jameer Ahamed is a dynamic marine biotechnologist whose multidisciplinary expertise bridges biotechnology, nanoscience, aquaculture, and environmental genomics. With a Master's in Biotechnology and extensive hands-on experience in marine microbial ecology, coral-associated metagenomics, and nanobiotechnology, he has built a career grounded in innovation and translational science.

Driven by curiosity and purpose, Jameer's research journey has taken him from developing RT-PCR diagnostics at PRAWN RX Health Care during the COVID-19 pandemic to spearheading coral restoration efforts at the Zoological Survey of India. His passion for exploring microbial interactions and marine biodiversity is matched by a knack for technical precision, evident in his work on nanoparticle synthesis, biosurfactants, and drug delivery systems—culminating in multiple peer-reviewed publications and a patent application.

As a certified PADI Advanced Open Water Diver, Jameer’s research dives deep—literally and figuratively—into understanding marine ecosystems. His experience in benthic sampling, plankton analysis, and live feed development for aquaculture reflects a unique blend of field biology and molecular insight. Whether mentoring students, characterizing novel bacterial strains, or decoding the bioactivity of mangrove microbes, he brings a collaborative and creative mindset to every endeavor.

With over 10 publications across journals such as Regional Studies in Marine Science, UP Journal of Zoology, and Eur. Chem. Bull., and a growing record of international conference presentations, Jameer continues to push the boundaries of marine science. His current interests lie in regenerative biology, coral microbiome engineering, and sustainable aquaculture technologies.

He is not only a scientist but a storyteller of the ocean—translating complex biology into solutions that benefit ecosystems and society alike.
