About
Dr. Farid is a leading young scientist in the area of Environmental Sciences in Pakistan and worldwide, with a research interest in Bioremediation, Biogeochemistry, Soil and wastewater treatment, Plant Physiology and Biochemistry. He holds significant research contribution with a total 85 impact factor publications in the field with a total, h-index=39, i10index=59, IF=310 and 8126. A total of 44 international published abstract and 39 Book chapters are also in his credit. He was awarded research productivity awards multiple times in his career. He holds different research and academic honors and awards from various internationally prestigious organizations. He was invited multiple times as external examiner for both PhD and MS dissertation defense. He is running research collaborations with scientists of different countries like China, Europe, Australia, and the Middle East. He was awarded two NRPU research projects by the Higher Education commission, Pakistan of worth 7.3 Million PKRs. He made several scientific visits for research talks, including Japan, France, United Kingdom etc. Dr. Farid successfully completed six months fully funded research training in Scottish Universities Environmental Research Center (SUERC), University of Glasgow, Scotland, UK by Higher Education Commission of Pakistan under IRSIP Program. He is a consistent winner of 26th,27th,28th,33rd and 34th Goldschmidt congress travel grants funded by European Association of Geochemistry (EAG) and Elsevier. He is member of various national and international organizations in the area of Environmental sciences, including Divisional Expert member of the Environmental projects approval Committee in Gujranwala, Pakistan. Dr. Farid also awarded several travel grants due to his unique and significant work in the field of Environmental Sciences. He supervised 18 MPhil and 17 BS students research projects and theses and taught a range of environmental sciences courses at all level BS/MS/PhD at university level.
