I have held practice, project management, leadership, and research roles across the NHS, local government, the voluntary and community sector, and higher education. All of which have followed a public health theme, with health promotion and health improvement a key thread.

In 2018 I paused my career to undertake a PhD studentship leading to my thesis entitled Socio-cultural influences on exercise and health along the cardiac patient journey. Towards the end of my PhD I resumed my career in a research role and focusing on healthy ageing and underserved communities during this time. I was also privileged to received a prestigious Mildred Blaxter Postdoctoral Fellowship, and during that time published a number of articles and presented at national and international conferences, winning the best oral abstract award at the 2023 British Association for Cardiovascular Prevention and Rehabilitation conference.

I continue my involvement in research by providing consultancy support on health, wellbeing, and community research and engagement largely to the public and voluntary sectors, and also working within the Integrated Care System to support research development.
