About
I am currently teaching in the Department of English at the University of Ladakh. I have completed my PhD in the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences at the Indian Institute of Technology Jammu. As a Cultural Anthropologist, my research explores the lived realities of the transhumant pastoral communities of Jammu and Kashmir, particularly the Gujjars and Bakerwals, through the lenses of Eco-philosophy, Human-Animal Studies, Posthumanism, and Socio-Cultural Cognition. For my Doctoral Thesis, I have engaged myself in practically observing and experiencing the unique rhythm of their life world, in exploring how the oral narratives of Gujjars and Bakerwals can be duly examined, their deep cultural content analyzed, and their ritualistic performances semiotically read.
