About

Partha P. Mondal was born in WB, India, on Feb.21, 1978, received his PhD in Biological Physics in 2006 from the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, India. He was a researcher at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (USA), International Center for Theoretical Physics (Italy), and University of Genova (Italy). Subsequently, he joined the Indian Institute of Science as Assistant Professor in 2010 and currently serves as a Full Professor. He visited several universities / institutes as visiting professor including, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (USA), the University of Maine (USA), and the Italian Institute of Technology (Genova, Italy). He has served on the editorial board of several prestigious journals including, Scientific Reports (NPG), AIP Advances (AIP), Micros. Res. Tech, (Wiley) and Frontiers in Nanobiotechnology. His research revolves around, Light, Optical Techniques (Nanolithography, Optical Traps), Microscopy & Imaging (Super-resolution Microscopy, Light Sheet Microscopy), Biophysics (Optics in Biology, Optical Instrumentation, Disease Biology, Dengue, Influenza, etc.). His laboratory (Nanobioimaging Lab) specializes in Scientific Instrumentation, Optical Microscopy, Nanobiology, Fluorescence Imaging, and Single-Molecule Physics.
