About

I am Dr. Mitra Mesgar, an English Language Lecturer at the University of Nizwa with over eight years of university teaching experience. My academic background includes a Ph.D. in English Language from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM, 2015). My research focuses on applied linguistics, English language teaching, and the integration of artificial intelligence tools—particularly ChatGPT—into EFL writing instruction to foster critical thinking skills. I have published widely in reputable journals and authored academic works such as E-Learning: Enhance Motivation and Scaffolding for Locus of Control Learners (LAP Lambert) and Active Learning and Task-Based Instruction (TBI) via Online Platforms During COVID-19 Pandemic. My work has also appeared in peer-reviewed international journals, reflecting both theoretical and practical contributions to language education. In addition, I actively serve as a peer reviewer for international journals in the field, supporting the scholarly community by evaluating and strengthening research in applied linguistics and educational technology.
