About
I'm a sociologist working at the intersection of data science, aging, and U.S. healthcare systems turning large-scale health data into evidence that can actually shape policy and practice.
My research examines how digital access, AI-driven health technologies, and workforce conditions shape healthcare outcomes for older adults.
My work has appeared in Inquiry: The Journal of Health Care Organization, Provision, and Financing and the Journal of Applied Gerontology, with coverage from Insurance NewsNet. My latest publication, "Understanding Translation and Cultural Meaning-Making in Cross-Language Qualitative Research: Methodological Innovations and Challenges,"appears in Social Science Quarterly (2026).
I'm honored to serve as Co-Chair (2026–2028) of the Sociology, Social Work, and Social Welfare Division of the Society for the Study of Social Problems (SSSP), and as the 2026 recipient of the Robert Beckley Award for Outstanding Paper from the Southwestern Social Science Association.
Methodologically, I work in Stata and R - multilevel and survey-weighted regression, SEM, machine learning, propensity score matching, and causal inference alongside training in cross-language qualitative methods.
Always glad to connect with researchers, healthcare organizations, and policy professionals working on aging, health equity, and the future of the U.S. healthcare workforce.
