About
He graduated with honors in Dentistry and Dental Prosthodontics from the University of Messina in 2015, defending a thesis on the clinical differences between dental implants placed in native versus regenerated bone.
In 2017, he completed a Second-Level Master’s Degree in Complex Oral Rehabilitations at the University of Catania, again with honors. Since 2019, he has been enrolled in the School of Specialization in Oral Surgery at the University of Campania “Luigi Vanvitelli”, Naples.
In 2022, Dr. Fiorillo obtained a PhD in Bioengineering Applied to Medical Sciences from the University of Messina, with a doctoral thesis focused on oral implantology, digital-guided surgery, and personalized medicine. In 2023, he achieved the Italian National Scientific Qualification (ASN) as Associate Professor in Oral Diseases and Dentistry (MEDS-16/A).
He currently serves as Assistant Professor at the University of Enna “Kore”, Italy, and as an academic collaborator and lecturer in Prosthodontics and Oral Rehabilitation at several national and international institutions.
Dr. Fiorillo is one of the founding members of the Global Oral Research Academy (GORA), an international research network that fosters high-quality, multidisciplinary collaboration in oral and craniofacial sciences. His research focuses on oral implantology, oral surgery, prosthodontics, dental biomaterials, bioengineering applications (including finite element analysis and digital workflows), and bibliometrics in dental research.
He is the author of more than 200 scientific publications in peer-reviewed international journals indexed in Scopus and Web of Science, with over 6,000 citations and a H-index exceeding 50. He has been repeatedly included in the Stanford University Top 2% Scientists List in the field of Dentistry. He bears extensive editorial responsibilities, including serving as Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Dentistry and Multidisciplinary Sciences, as well as holding positions as Associate or Guest Editor for several high-impact international journals. He is a frequently invited speaker at national and international scientific conferences.
