Rajesh Kumar Muthu is a Chartered Engineer of IET, U.K., and a Senior Member of IEEE. An accomplished academician with 24 years of teaching and research experience across India (2000-2010, 2015-2021, 2023-Present), United Kingdom (2010-2015), and Mauritius (2022). He received his B.E. degree in electronics and communication engineering from the University of Madras, Chennai, India. The M.E. degree in electrical drives and embedded control from the College of Engineering, Guindy, Anna University, Chennai, India. Subsequently, he earned an M.B.A. degree in systems from Alagappa University, Karaikudi, India. In 2010, Rajesh Kumar Muthu was awarded the Research Scholarships Award for his PhD degree from the Department of Computer and Information Sciences, Northumbria University, Newcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom. He was also a Senior Research Assistant with the Department of Mathematics and Information Science, Northumbria University, U.K., in early 2015. Additionally, he received grants from e-COST (2013) to attend the 10th International Summer School on Biometrics and Forensics in Alghero, Italy. In 2019, he was awarded a grant from VIT University SEED, and in 2022-2024, he was a CO-PI for a project funded by the Royal Academy of Engineering, U.K. In France- Mauritius ULIMA project he was invited as an International transversal researcher (2024). He was awarded VIT faculty startup grant 2024. He is currently the PI for the International Research Collaboration CO-Fund: IRCC Qatar (2023-2024).
Rajesh Kumar Muthu has published more than 100+ papers in international journals, IEEE conferences, book chapters, and edited a book in IGI Global (Published), Qatar University Press(in print), and CRC Press (approved). He has received two Indian patent. His research group is focused on speech signal processing, biomedical signal processing, medical image processing, data analytics, Artificial Intelligence/ Machine Learning in healthcare applications, and optimization techniques.
Rajesh Kumar Muthu is currently an Associate Professor at Vellore Institute of Technology, Vellore, India, and an Adjunct Professor (Academic Research) at Universite des Mascareignes, Mauritius, in partnership with the University of Limoges, France. He is also a Visiting Research Fellow at Glasgow Caledonian University, Glasgow, Scotland.
