About
Weijia Yao obtained the Ph.D. degree with distinction cum laude in systems and control theory from the University of Groningen, Groningen, the Netherlands, in 2021. His research interests include nonlinear systems and control, robotics, multiagent systems, and game theory.
Dr. Yao was a finalist for the Best Conference Paper Award at ICRA in 2021, a finalist for the Georges Giralt PhD Award in 2022, a finalist for the European Systems & Control PhD Thesis Award, and the recipient of the Outstanding Master Degree Dissertation award of Hunan province, China, in 2020. He is also the champion of the technical challenge in the 2019 RoboCup Middle Size League. He is an Associate Editor of IEEE Transactions of Robotics, and an early career editorial board member of the Elsevier journal: Biomimetic Intelligence and Robotics.
