Dr. P. K. Gupta is a distinguished Computer Science researcher and educator with over 23 years of experience, holding a Post Doctorate from the University of Pretoria and currently serving as a Professor at JUIT, Solan, India. Previously, he has served as Professor and Head (Data Science) at Mohan Babu University, Tirupati, India. He was a visiting researcher at the Federal University of Itajuba - UNIFEI/IMC, Brazil, in 2017. He completed his Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering in 2013 from Jaypee University of Information Technology, India.
Dr. Gupta is a renowned international researcher with over 105 SCOPUS-indexed publications and significant citations with an h-index of 23, specializing in Internet-of-Things, Artificial Intelligence, Cloud Computing, Vehicular Networks, and Fog Computing; he has also authored two books with Springer and edited more than 20 volumes, contributing extensively to his fields. Dr. Gupta has been granted research projects totalling over 40 Lakhs from the DST India and HIMCOSTE, Shimla, HP. He is also an expert committee member of NRF Singapore and NRF South Africa. He has published four patents, of which one has been granted.
Dr. Gupta has received notable accolades including the NRF-KIC South Africa-2015 grant, the 2024 Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan Distinguished Researcher and Professor Award, and an award from the Computer Society of India for maximum publications in 2015-16; he has also held leadership roles as the CSI Himachal Pradesh State Student Coordinator and IEEE Delhi Section Executive Council member, and serves as an Associate Editor for IEEE Access and Frontiers in High Performance Computing.
He has supervised 7 PhD scholars and 13 M.Tech. students. He has enthusiastically participated in and acted as an organizing committee member for numerous IEEE and other conferences. He is currently serving as a Life Member of the Computer Society of India (CSI), a Life Member of the Indian Science Congress Association (ISCA), a Member of IEEE, a Professional Member of ACM, a Senior Member of IACSIT, and a Member of the Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE).
