About
As an Assistant Professor at Khalifa University, I lead my research group, teach and mentor graduate and undergraduate students, and foster global collaborative networks.
Central to my mission is the cross-linking between research, society, and industry. This inspiration guides my project selection, prioritizing those with tangible impacts on everyday practices. Additionally, I actively engage in conferences, social gatherings, and outreach events, where I share knowledge and motivate the next generation of researchers.
My research interests span across several key areas: the development of soft microfluidic-based sensors for restoring the tactile sensation in minimally invasive surgery, electrochemical processing techniques for metal micromanufacturing, and using computational materials science (particularly ab initio methods) to investigate 2D materials for applications in gas sensing and energy storage (hydrogen and metal-ion batteries).
