About
Prof. Prabhjot is an academically brilliant professional and passionate teacher with 22+ years of teaching experience who always wanted to become a teacher as she firmly believes that the quality of education depends on the teacher's quality. She imagines that teaching has given her a platform to contribute to humanity, prosperity, and innovation. Dr. Prabhjot believes that she is in the business of building the nation by transforming and empowering her students, who are the future of the nation.
Prof. Prabhjot is passionate about research. She has been awarded PhD twice for her work in two different research areas. Prof. Prabhjot's first research work gave solutions in the field of medical imaging to detect tumor regions accurately out of corrupted CT scan / MRI brain tumor images. In her second research work, she provided solutions for class imbalance problems in a noisy environment using data-level approaches.
Prof. Prabhjot has authored and published 3 books, 09 Patents (01 Granted, 08 Published) and 80+ research papers in reputed journals and conferences (SCIE:12, ESCI:8, Scopus:40+). She has 1084 citations with h-index:19 and i10 index: 32. Two Students have completed their Ph.D. and many more are working under her in the field of class imbalance and security issues in IoT at Graduate, Post Graduate and Doctorate level.
Prof. Prabhjot is ranked among Top 2% Researchers in the World by Stanford University Global Ranking for the year 2020. She was awarded Best Researcher of the Year 2021 by CEGR (Center of Education Growth and Research) for outstanding and exemplary contribution towards education, skill development and Research. She was awarded Best Faculty at MSIT for the year 2012 for outstanding contribution to the institution in the academics, placement, Research & Publications, and Extra-Curricular areas. She also won the Research excellence award for the year 2019, 2021 and 2022.
Prof. Prabhjot is a keen learner and a student of technology. She has attended more than 30 Faculty development programs and seminars to keep her updated with the latest technology innovation and transformation.
Prof. Prabhjot has contributed significantly to the administrative progress of MSIT over the years such as convener of Joint Assessment Committee (JAC), IP Affiliation Committee, Annual Academic audit by GGSIP University; HOD of IT department; Convener of Avensis, College Magazine, Editor-in-chief of Launch edition of College Research journal, and core team members of several essential college committees, etc.
Prof. Prabhjot has committed her life to impart the best quality education to the students and teaching them the importance of ethics, values, and principles in all facets of life.
Prof. Prabhjot has always been academically excellent. She was on the merit list in matriculation and won National Scholarship. She was a Gold medalist in Thapar Polytechnic. During B.Tech., she was among the top 5 rankers consistently in all the semesters. She completed her M.Tech. with distinction.
