About
Dr Saumya Singh is an Assistant Professor in the Ecosystem and Environment Management area at the Indian Institute of Forest Management (IIFM) in Bhopal,India. With over a decade of experience, her research focuses extensively on the sources and processes of air pollution, particularly reactive nitrogen compounds such as ammonia. Her work involves understanding the sources and processes driving rural and urban air pollution in India, utilizing a range of lower-cost instrumentation to gather critical data and insights. Her current work involves agriculture– air quality linkage, focusing on reactive nitrogen and secondary pollutants. The overarching research interest is to understand how human activities are changing the atmospheric (tropospheric) composition in the process of food and energy production. Hence, to study the sources, emissions and fate of air pollutants and their cascading impacts on air quality, human health, ecosystem health, and climate.
