About
Dr. Niranjan Ravindra Thakur is an agricultural scientist specializing in plant breeding, genetics, and crop improvement. He is currently working as a Project Scientist 'B' in the Genetics & Plant Breeding Group at MACS - Agharkar Research Institute (an autonomous institute under DST, Govt. of India), contributing to the ICAR - All India Coordinated Research Project (AICRP) on Soybean.
He holds a Ph.D. in Genetics & Plant Breeding and has prior research experience at premier institutions, including the International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid Tropics (ICRISAT). His research domain encompasses soybean (Glycine max) genetics, germplasm characterization, multi-location varietal trials, and breeding strategies aimed at yield optimization, climate resilience, and stress resistance.
