About

I did my BSc (Hons. School); MSc (Hons. School) and PhD from a very prestigious Institue, Panjab University Chandigarh. I did my Post Doc for 5 years frpm Panjab University and PGIMER Chandigarh. I have post PhD teaching and research experience of 11 years. I have published several research papers in leading International Journals. The focused area of my research is to decipher the risk factors, molecular mechanisms underlying the pathogenesis of age associated diseases including type 2 diabetes, coronary artery diseases and neurological disorders. I have keen interest in the genetic architecture of T2DM, CAD and Alzheimer’s Disease; Mitochondria targeted therapeutics, and Nanomedicine using cutting edge, high throughput technologies. We have a well-established laboratory and central instrumentation laboratory to undertake research in cellular, molecular, genomics and proteomic aspects of various diseases. My current research projects are focused on the identification of novel molecular targets, which could be implemented into clinical practice as potential diagnostic/prognostic markers for Myocardial Infarction, Diabetic Nephropathy as well as nano-drug delivery in neurodegenerative diseases. My research team has been working hard to unveil the clinical as well as molecular aspects of these diseases. The significant findings of our research work have been published in reputed international journals including Molecular Neurobiology, Mitochondrion, Metabolic Brain Disease, BBA-Molecular Basis of Disease, Frontiers in Aging Neurosciences, Journal of Diabetes and Complications, Annals of Human Genetics, Molecular and Cellular Biochemistry, etc. I have been awarded with a prestigious fellowships including UGC-Post Doc Fellow (2013-18), Panjab University Meritorius Fellowship for PhD.
