About

Dr Seth earned his M.Sc. in Botany with a specialisation in Applied Microbiology in 2004 and his Ph.D. in 2010 from Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla (INDIA).
He has also qualified for the CSIR/UGC NET exam and received a CSIR-Senior Research Fellowship. His work is primarily in the area of Microbiology and Plant Pathology.
He has previously worked on harnessing various thermophilic enzymes from the Western Himalayan region for industrial applications. In this regard, he was awarded a three-year research project under the DST-SERB Young Scientist Scheme in 2013.
Dr. Seth has teaching experience of more than 17 years. He has successfully guided nine Ph.D. students and three M.Phil. students to date. His other research interests include Himalayan pteridophytes. In recognition of his contributions, he was awarded the Certificate of Merit and the S.S. Bir Gold Medal by the Indian Fern Society.
He has successfully published 41 research papers in International and National Journals of repute and has four book chapters to his credit. Dr. Seth has filed seven patents and was involved in the successful organisation of four National Conferences.
He is also an Editorial Board Member of Vegetos (SpringerNature Journal).
Dr. Amit Seth received a major research grant in 2025 from DBT, Govt. of India for biocontrol of plant pathogens.
Dr. Amit Seth was also elected fellow of The Indian Fern Society in 2023.
