About
Dr. Vikram Shetty is a dually qualified Facio-Maxillary Surgeon and is currently the Director of the Nitte Meenakshi Institute of Craniofacial Surgery. He is attached to the K. S Hegde Medical College and A.B. Shetty Dental College, affiliated to the Nitte University. He has acquired his formal medical and dental training along with a specialisation in Facio-Maxillary Surgery. He has undergone extensive neurosurgical training and is now one of the few surgeons in India operating on complex craniofacial deformities.
As the head of one of the busiest craniofacial institutes in South India, Dr. Vikram Shetty personally performs around 900 to 1000 complex facial surgeries every year. As part of the Medical Sciences Section, he is also the Director of the Craniofacial Surgery Fellowship Program of the Medical College and is in charge of training post-graduate students in Facio-Maxillary Surgery. His department has a partnership with 'Cleft Children - International' and 'The Smile Train' that help bring back the smile to countless children afflicted with the scourge of Cleft Lip and Palate.
Dr. Shetty has perfected the principles and techniques of contouring of the face to enhance beauty and youth without the need for repeated surgical procedures. He hopes to bring these surgical techniques within the reach of the common people.
