Dr. Santosh Gaikwad

About

Dr. Santosh Kashinath Gaikwad is an Associate Professor and Associate Dean (Academics) at the Faculty of Science and Technology, JSPM University, Pune, India. He earned his Ph.D. in Computer Science from Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, Aurangabad, with research focused on the Design and Development of Marathi Speech Interface Systems. With over 16 years of academic, research, and administrative experience, he has made significant contributions to teaching, curriculum development, research, and academic leadership.

His primary research interests include Speech Signal Processing, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Human–Computer Interaction, Data Science, Data Analytics, Pattern Recognition, Medical Image Processing, Digital Watermarking, Biometrics, and Intelligent Information Systems. His research has particularly contributed to the advancement of Indian language speech technologies, multilingual speech corpora, speech recognition systems, and AI-driven intelligent applications.

Dr. Gaikwad has authored 30+ research papers published in reputed Scopus-indexed, IEEE, ACM, Springer, and international journals and conference proceedings, along with one book, four international book chapters, and twelve patents and copyrights in emerging areas of Artificial Intelligence, biomedical image analysis, forensic computing, and intelligent systems. His publications have received more than 1,000 citations, with an h-index of 11 and an i10-index of 12, reflecting the impact of his research in the global scientific community.

He actively serves as a reviewer and technical program committee member for several reputed international journals and conferences, including the International Journal of Speech Technology (Springer) and IEEE-sponsored conferences. He is also a member of leading professional organizations such as IEEE, ACM, IAENG, IACSIT, ISCA, and the Computer Science Teachers Association (CSTA), demonstrating his continued engagement with the international research community.

Beyond research, Dr. Gaikwad has held several important academic leadership roles, including Program Coordinator, Head of Department, Associate Dean (Academics), and member of various university curriculum development, examination, and quality assurance committees. He has coordinated numerous faculty development programmes, academic initiatives, and research activities aligned with NEP 2020, Outcome-Based Education (OBE), and quality assurance frameworks.

His academic excellence has been recognized through several prestigious honours, including the Faculty Academic Excellence Award from JSPM University, research and travel grants from the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India, and international research support from the University of Tokushima, Japan.

Dr. Gaikwad is committed to advancing interdisciplinary research that integrates Artificial Intelligence, Speech Technologies, Data Science, and Intelligent Computing to address real-world societal and industrial challenges while promoting innovation, quality research, and academic excellence.
