About

Dr. Sumit Bhateja completed his Master of Dental surgery (MDS) with specialization in Oral Medicine, Diagnosis and Radiology from Dr. B.R. Ambedkar University. He holds a PG Diploma in Forensic Odontology and a Ph.D.degree in Alternative Medicine. He also recently completed a one year certificate program in Pharmacovigilance. Currently pursuing M.A.(Clinical Psychology) from Indira Gandhi National Open University, New Delhi. He has 12 years of teaching experience during which he has authored over 150 research papers in journals of National and International repute and 4 textbooks that have been published. Presently working as Head of Department, Dept. of Oral Medicine & Radiology at Manav Rachna Dental College.
He is also bestowed with responsibility of the Research Committee coordinator for post graduate studies at MRDC, Member of Health & Nutrition cluster, MRIIRS. Member of Institutional ethical committee of MRDC(Affiliated to ICMR). Has set up the Tobacco Cessation Center at MRDC. Has brought complete digitalization of Radiology and OPD records at MRDC. Also the Incharge of Advance Imaging Center at MRDC. He received Medal & Two certificates of Appreciation for Academic excellence from MRIIRS in AY 2020-21.
Has received grants twice for ICMR funded STS projects in year 2012 and 2020 respectively. Has mentored a close to 100 research papers to undergraduates of MRDC. Had been mentoring undergraduate students for paper presentations at various Conferences. 05 undergraduate students had received awards at National level conference under his mentorship since his joining at MRDC. He has won laurels at several State/ National level conferences. Has an h-index of 14. He is also recognized Ph.D Supervisor at MRIIRS & presently has 3 Ph.D scholars under his mentorship. He has been on the editorial and reviewer board of several national journals. Recently received approval of grant of INR 2.5Lakhs from New Gen IEDC for startup proposal titled “Oracan”. In March 2023 he received BEST YOUNG RESEARCH AWARD at National Editor’s Summit organized by Innovative Education & Research & Foundation.
