S. Rehan Ahmad (Ph.D.) is a distinguished Assistant Professor and Head of the Department of Microbiology at HMMCW, Kolkata, affiliated with West Bengal State University. He is an accomplished researcher, academic editor, and innovator with extensive expertise in microbiology, medicinal chemistry, precision medicine, and neurodegenerative diseases. Dr. Ahmad is a Patentee, Entrepreneur, and Book Editor for Elsevier. He serves as the Vice President of the Institution's Innovation Council (IIC), Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India, and as an Academic Editor for PLOS ONE. With over 60 published articles, six authored books, and more than 25 patents, he has established himself as a leader in multidisciplinary research. His work spans diverse fields, including drug discovery, environmental biotechnology, neurobiology, and the gut microbiome, with a particular focus on neurodegenerative diseases and their pharmacogenomic and therapeutic advancements. Dr. Ahmad's contributions extend to mentoring doctoral fellows, spearheading research proposals, and promoting innovation in science and education.
