Dr Pravinkumar is a specialist clinician in Prosthodontics and Implant Dentistry. He is a Programme Director for PG Diploma in Prosthodontics (PGDPros), Implant Clinic Lead, and Implant Research Cluster Head in IMU School of Dentistry. He is an Examiner for RCS Edinburgh Diploma in Implant Dentistry exam and International Team for Implantology (ITI) Diploma in Implant Dentistry exam. He is the ITI Research Committee Member and an official ITI Speaker. He is an Adjunct Professor in 3 dental institutes in Nagpur, Pune, and Wardha. He is Associate Editor-in-Chief of International Journal of Prosthodontics and Restorative Dentistry (SCOPUS), Academic Editor of PLOS-ONE (Tier 1), International Journal of Dentistry (Tier 2), & Case Report in Dentistry (Tier 3) and Editorial Board Member of The Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry (Tier 1). He is a founding member of ‘Council for Prosthodontic Research’ of Indian Prosthodontic Society (CPR-IPS) and a founding committee member of the Association for Maxillofacial Prosthodontics and Rehabilitation in India (AMPRI). He has secured over 25 research grants including 6 external grants from ITI Switzerland, FRGS Malaysia, IMU Malaysia, Lady Tata Memorial Trust India, and Colgate India with over USD 97,000 including ITI grant of USD 49,000 (2013) and USD 22,000 (2023) as a Principal Investigator. He has published 153 manuscripts and reviewed total 337 so far. He has developed over 20 novel techniques and devices including mouth exercising device & anatomical surgical obturator technique. He has won international awards including Kim Award 2nd at Asian Academy of Prosthodontics Conference 2021, poster award 3rd at ITI Southeast Asia Congress 2019, Publons top reviewers in Malaysia 2017, and top 1% in the world in clinical medicine 2018 awards and was among the 7 finalists for KAP-AAP award at AAP Philippines 2022, representing Malaysia. He is an influential team player and has won a few IMU group awards namely E-learning Innovation Award 2015, Development of New Programme Award 2016 for PGDID, and Business Process Improvement Award 2018, New Programme Development Award 2021 for PGDPros. He was invited speaker at major international scientific conferences in South Korea (APDC 2019), Sri Lanka (APDC 2021), Pakistan (APDC 2022), Malaysia (MIDEC 2016, MAP 2014, MAAD 2018, IDSC 2021), India (IPS 2015, 2019, 2020, 2021, ISOI 2023), Myanmar (ASEAN ORL HNS 2019). He was invited speaker for many online webinars including the webinar series by Digitodontics, ITI Fellows Malaysia, and European Prosthodontic Association (EPA). He has conducted many pre-conference courses and CPD workshops related to prosthodontics and implant dentistry. He has presented several clinical and research oral/posters presentations. He is a key faculty member for IMU’s Postgraduate Diploma in Implant Dentistry (PGDID) as a module coordinator and clinical supervisor and for PGDPros as a Programme Director, module coordinator, and clinical supervisor. He has inspired several undergraduate students to try out improved clinical techniques during routine patient care under his supervision and guided them to publish in scientific journals. He is currently being assessed for his doctorate, a PhD in Medical and Health Sciences at IMU.
