About
For the last 8 years, I have been actively engaged in Population and Evolutionary genetics research. Currently, I am working as an Assistant Professor of Zoology at Amolakchand Mahavidyalaya, Yavatmal. I have completed my three years of full-time research tenure as a Senior Research Fellow (SRF) on a DBT-funded Major Research Project entitled “Population genetic structure of Gaur (Bos gaurus gaurus) from Melghat Tiger Reserve, Maharashtra”. I earned my PhD from the Laboratory of Molecular and Conservation
Genetics, Govt. Vidarbha Institute of Science and Humanities, Amravati, India. I am interested in studying genetic variation among the population to address questions related to population and evolutionary genomics. I have also acquired expertise in non-invasive, ancient, and historical DNA extraction from excavated bone remains, museum specimens and related PCR optimisation issues. I have expertise in various Bayesian and coalescence-based bioinformatics programs used in population and evolutionary genomics.
