About
Dr. Suman Chirra is an MSCA-CZ Postdoctoral Researcher in the Department of Physical Chemistry at the University of Pardubice, Czech Republic, specializing in the rational design, synthesis, and functionalization of advanced porous materials. His research focuses on zeolites, mesoporous frameworks, and metal-organic frameworks (MOFs), with targeted applications in heterogeneous catalysis, photocatalytic and electrocatalytic CO₂ reduction, H₂ production, gas separation, and sustainable energy systems. He earned his Ph.D. in Chemistry from the National Institute of Technology Warangal (NITW), India, in 2020.
His career combines international research experience with competitive fellowship funding, including the MSCA Fellowships CZ scheme (Czech Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports), Erasmus+ International Credit Mobility, TEEP@AsiaPlus, and a DAAD RoHan South-South Postdoc Scholarship. He has undertaken research stays and advanced training at the University of Santiago de Compostela (Spain), Kaohsiung Medical University (Taiwan), National Cheng Kung University (Taiwan), and the LCS Laboratory, ENSICAEN/CNRS (France). He previously served as Assistant Professor and Head of the Department of Chemistry at Woxsen University, India.
Dr. Chirra has authored 26 peer-reviewed journal articles in journals including Angewandte Chemie International Edition, Journal of Materials Chemistry B, Energy & Fuels, and Materials Today Communications, alongside 4 conference proceedings and 2 Springer book chapters. His work has attracted 369 citations, with an h-index of 11 and an i10-index of 12 (Google Scholar, September 2026). He holds four Indian registered designs under the Designs Act 2000, with one design licensed to Woxsen University.
He is an elected Life Fellow of the Indian Chemical Society, a Guest Editor for Catalysts (MDPI), and a lifetime member of the Society of Carbon Dioxide Research and Innovation (CO₂India) and the Catalysis Society of India, as well as a member of the Czech Chemical Society and the American Chemical Society. He serves as a peer reviewer for 24 international journals in materials chemistry, catalysis, and sustainable technologies.
