About

Dr. Ramesh Kumar S is an Associate Professor of Horticulture with over 18 years of teaching, research, and academic experience in vegetable science and horticultural crops. He obtained his Ph.D. in Vegetable Science from Tamil Nadu Agricultural University in 2012, after completing his M.Sc. in Vegetable Science from PAJANCOA & RI, Karaikal, and B.Sc. (Agriculture) from AC&RI, Madurai. He has served as faculty in reputed agricultural institutions and is currently working as Associate Professor (Horticulture).

His areas of expertise include vegetable breeding, crop production, medicinal and aromatic crops, floriculture, post-harvest management, and sustainable horticulture. He has extensive teaching experience in undergraduate, postgraduate, doctoral, and diploma programmes, handling courses related to horticultural crop production, breeding, crop regulation, stress management, and value addition.

Dr. Ramesh Kumar has published 48 research papers, 5 review articles, 6 books, 8 book chapters, and several abstracts and popular articles in national and international publications. He serves as Editor and Editorial Board member for various international journals related to agriculture and horticulture. He is also a Fellow and Life Member of several professional scientific societies and academies, including the International Society for Sustainability and Development, Japan, Indian Society of Vegetable Science, and Indian Academy of Horticultural Science.

He has received several prestigious recognitions including the Achiever Award (2026), Young Achiever Award, Prof. M.S. Swaminathan Best Young Scientist Award, Best Faculty Awards, and Best Research Paper Awards for his significant contributions to horticultural education and research.
