About

I have completed B.S. and MS. in Biochemistry from AMU, Aligarh, India. During my Ph.D. from the same department, I focused on computational analysis and alternatively spliced transcripts of some cancer-associated genes. Another project involved elucidating the binding mechanisms of various NSAIDs and anticancer drugs with DNA.

Following my Ph.D., I got the opportunity of teaching undergraduate students in the department as an Assistant Professor before joining as a National Postdoctoral Fellow (DST-SERB) at the National Institute of Immunology (NII), New Delhi, India. At NII, the project involved modulation of i6A37 and ms2i6A37 tRNA modifications via the mevalonate pathway. The objective was to look for variations in the translation efficiency using ribosome profiling and RNA seq.

I joined the University of Miami, Florida, USA in March 2021 as a Postdoctoral Associate. Here, I am working on multiple projects on pancreatitis and pancreatic cancer, among which one involves the role of neutrophils and NETs in these diseases. Our group is the developer of the drug Minnelide, which has shown promising results in pancreatic and other cancers. The long-term goal is to determine the potential targets that can be exploited for therapeutic interventions in these diseases.
