About
Born on 30 June 1940 in a village near Tumakuru, Karnataka, received B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees from Mysore University, and Ph.D. from the University of Delhi. Soon after Ph.D. joined the faculty of the Department of Botany, University of Delhi where he served as a Lecturer, Reader and Professor. He retired from Delhi University as the Head of the Department in 2002 and joined Ashoka Trust for Research in Ecology and the Environment (ATREE), Bangalore, as an INSA Senior Scientist where he is presently serving as an INSA Honorary Scientist and Honorary Senior Fellow.
His research interests: Reproductive biology of flowering plants with particular reference to pollen biology and biotechnology, pollination ecology, breeding systems
