About

Dr. Rashmi Sharma is a microbiologist with extensive research and professional experience. Holding a Ph.D. in Microbiology, her doctoral research focused on the "Characterization of multi-trait plant growth promoting rhizobacteria and evaluating their potential as bioinoculant for enhanced growth and yield of tomato." This research involved physiological profiling, molecular fingerprinting, and exploring the genetic and functional diversity of plant growth promoting rhizobacteria associated with tomato rhizosphere.

In her current role as a Scientist-B at the Virus Research Diagnostic Lab, Department of Microbiology, Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri Govt. Medical College in Mandi (H.P.), She leads research in serological and molecular diagnosis of viral diseases. She conducts real-time assessments during viral outbreaks, organizes training programs for healthcare professionals, and actively engages in grant proposals to support research initiatives.

Previously, Dr Rashmi served as an Assistant Professor at DAV University, Jalandhar, where she taught various microbiology courses and supervised students in their research dissertations. She has received academic awards and scholarships, including the ICAR’s Senior Research Fellowship, and has published her research in reputable national and international journals, co-authoring multiple book chapters. Dr. Rashmi Sharma's contributions to microbiology encompass research, education, and the dissemination of advanced diagnostic techniques.
