About
I am Ruhban Ansar Parry, a cancer biologist specializing in bioactive compounds from medicinal plants and their therapeutic potential against cancer. As a Ph.D. researcher at the Department of Clinical Biochemistry, University of Kashmir, my work focuses on investigating molecular mechanisms underlying colorectal cancer progression, particularly targeting oncogenic pathways such as Wnt3a, Notch1, and Sonic Hedgehog (Shh). My doctoral research explores the cytotoxic effects of bioactive compounds from Alcea rosea on stem cell-driven colon carcinogenesis using in vitro and in vivo models to assess anti-cancer activity, apoptosis, epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT), and molecular signaling pathways. Additionally, I have worked on the immunomodulatory effects of Cousinia thomsonii and the role of Guggulsterone in reversing Docetaxel resistance in prostate cancer. My expertise includes cancer biology, molecular docking, chromatography, cell culture, and animal model experimentation. With multiple international conference presentations, I am dedicated to translational cancer research, drug discovery, and plant-based therapeutics with minimal side effects, actively seeking collaborations to advance precision medicine in oncology.
