About
Currently dealing in research in the field of Chemical Engineering with a strong focus on biomass utilization, thermochemical conversion technologies, and waste-to-energy systems. My research contributions primarily address sustainable energy generation and resource recovery through advanced pyrolysis and co-pyrolysis processes, integrating experimental thermogravimetric analysis with kinetic and thermodynamic modelling. With a PhD from Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology (MNNIT) Allahabad, Prayagraj and currently serving as a Technical Officer in the Department of Chemical Engineering, MNNIT Allahabad, Prayagraj, my work bridges fundamental research with applied engineering solutions.
My research is centered on the valorization of agricultural biomass and plastic waste using thermochemical pathways. My core areas include biomass pyrolysis, biomass-plastic co-pyrolysis, waste-to-energy conversion, kinetic modelling, and bioprocess engineering. A significant portion of my work explores the synergistic effects arising from the co-processing of lingo-cellulosic biomass with polymeric waste, aiming to enhance thermal degradation behavior, energy efficiency and product yield. My research employs thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) as a primary tool to investigate thermal decomposition behavior under controlled heating conditions. Advanced model-free and model-based kinetic methods, along with thermodynamic parameter estimation, are used to elucidate reaction mechanisms and energy requirements. Recent studies also incorporate artificial neural network (ANN) modelling to predict degradation behavior, demonstrating a forward-looking integration of machine learning into thermochemical research.
I have made notable contributions in understanding the thermal degradation kinetics of agricultural residues such as garlic stalk, corn cob, wheat straw, and finger millet straw. My early work established reliable kinetic parameters for biomass pyrolysis, contributing to reactor design and scale-up considerations. These studies are widely cited and published in reputable international journals. A major advancement in my research is the systematic investigation of biomass-plastic co-pyrolysis, particularly with polyethylene waste. My highly cited publications in Science of the Total Environment and Bioresource Technology provide in-depth insights into synergistic mechanisms, reaction kinetics, and thermodynamic feasibility. These works demonstrate that co-pyrolysis can reduce activation energy barriers and improve thermal conversion efficiency compared to individual feedstock processing. Beyond experimental studies, I have contributed to review and perspective research, summarizing progress in biomass-plastic co-pyrolysis technologies, reactor innovations, and kinetic modelling approaches. These works serve as reference material for researchers and practitioners working on sustainable thermochemical conversion systems.
I have published multiple peer-reviewed articles in high-impact international journals, including Science of the Total Environment (Q1), Bioresource Technology (Q1), Bioresource Technology Reports (Q1), Energy Sources, Part A (Q2), International Journal of Environmental Research (Q2) and Chemical Product and Process Modelling (Q3). Several of my papers have received significant citations, reflecting their relevance and impact within the research community. My work is indexed in major databases such as Scopus and Google Scholar. In addition to journal publications, I have actively disseminated research findings through national and international conferences, contributing to knowledge exchange on biomass pyrolysis and co-pyrolysis kinetics. My conference papers complement journal outputs by focusing on mechanistic insights and experimental methodologies.
