About
Tarun Gupta is currently serving as an Professor (HAG) in the Department of Civil Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology - Kanpur. He is also Dean Research and Development at IIT Kanpur. He has earned his Doctor of Science (Environmental Health) Degree in 2004 from Harvard University School of Public Health and Master of Technology (Environmental Science and Engineering) Degree in 2000 from Indian Institute of Technology-Bombay. He has till date authored more than 200 peer reviewed international journal publications. He served as a reviewer for more than 40 reputed ISI indexed journals. He has been bestowed upon with salient recognition like VNMM Award (2019), N C Nigam Chair Professorship (2019), INAE Innovator and Entrepreneur Award (2018), INYAS membership (2016), NASI SCOPUS Young Scientist (2015), INSA Medal for Young Scientist (2011) and INAE Young Engineer Award (2009). His broad research interests are development of instruments for aerosol measurement, formation of secondary organic aerosol, personal exposure assessment and health effects of inhaled particles, source apportionment of air pollution, formation and control of engine exhaust emissions, and human risk assessment.
