About
Dr. P. Senthilkumar Palanisamy is a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellow (NanoBio4Can Project) at the Sabancı University Nanotechnology Research and Application Center (SUNUM), Istanbul, Türkiye. He received his Ph.D. in Biotechnology and has more than a decade of experience in teaching, research, and mentoring undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral students.
His research focuses on nanobiotechnology, biomaterials, sustainable nanomaterials, and food packaging technologies. His current work emphasizes the development of bio-based nanocomposites, cellulose nanomaterials, functional packaging, antimicrobial coatings, and nanotechnology-enabled approaches for food safety, cancer theranostics, and environmental applications. He is particularly interested in translating renewable biomass and nanotechnology into sustainable solutions for food preservation and biomedical applications.
Dr. Senthilkumar has authored over 40 peer-reviewed research articles, several book chapters, and patents, with research published in leading international journals. His work has received more than 1,000 citations and spans interdisciplinary areas including nanocellulose, magnetic nanoparticles, biosensors, biodegradable polymers, and advanced functional materials. He actively collaborates with researchers from academia and industry and is committed to developing innovative, sustainable technologies with societal impact.
