About
I feel happy to introduce myself as Dr.P.Periasamy and completed my bachelor degree (B.Sc –Physics) in Periyar University and master degree (M.Sc Physics) in Annamalai University in south India. I was inspired in Material Science by my PG Professor Dr.N.Ramamoorthi from Annamalai University who simplified the fundamental concepts in material science to students’ level during his classroom lecturing. Thus, I registered my Pre-Doctoral degree (M.Phil) in PRIST University which is a reputed University in India. After successful completion of my Pre-Doctoral degree, I started my career as Teaching cum Ph.D research scholar in Anna University which is one of the world-renowned Universities from south India under the supervision of Dr.T.Krishnakumar, Professor in Physics, Tagore Institute of Engineering and Technology, an affiliated institute to Anna University and completed on January 24, 2020.
During my Ph.D research work, I focused to study the hybridized nanocomposites for electrochemical supercapacitor application. For my research work, I have prepared Tungsten and Vanadium-based Hybrid nanocomposites by Microwave-Assisted Wet Chemical Method. The electrochemical analysis of as-prepared nanocomposites showed the highest specific capacitance for WO3-CdS nanocomposites in both acidic (H2SO4) and alkaline (KOH) electrolytes such as 240 F/g and 650 F/g. Besides, all my research findings/results were published in 5 different international Scopus indexed journals.
In addition to the hybridized metal nanocomposites, I’ve conceived a research plan to extend my research work on Graphene and polymer-based hybridized nanocomposites which are expected to be offer many applications in front line area of research. Many researchers reported the potential of polymers in the energy storage device and microelectronic devices due to its simple synthesis technique and high chemical stability, economically low cost and high conductivity, flexible doping properties. Morphology controlled hybrid nanocomposites based on graphene and polymers would be an alternative to metal oxide nanocomposites
