About

Sambhunath Nandy (S Nandy) received the Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) degree (1994) in Mechanical Engineering and the Master of Engineering (M.E.) degree (1996) in Production Engg. from Bengal Engineering College, Shibpur (Now Indian Institute of Engineering, Science & Technology), and the Ph.D. degree (2014) in "Robust Control of Nonholonomic Systems with Multi-Sensor Fusion Data" from IIT, Kharagpur. Since 1995, Dr. S Nandy has been working with CSIR-Central Mechanical Engineering Research Institute, Durgapur, India, the only apex laboratory for mechanical engineering in Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR), New Delhi. Dr. Dr. S Nandy's research interests are in - Robotics, Control, Navigation and Guidance of Underwater and Terrain Robotic Vehicles. Dr. S Nandy was a recipient of DAAD Fellowship from TU, Dramstadt, Germany (2002-2003). Dr. S Nandy has over two decades of experience in Design and Development of Underwater Technologies for monitoring, inspection and intervention in subsea environment. Dr S Nandy is currently an expert member in different committees for reviewing various underwater technological developments undertaken in Indian context. His research interests lie mainly in manipulator dynamics and control, underwater robotics, wheeled mobile robotics, sensor fusion and control of nonholonomic dynamic systems. Dr. S Nandy is an Adjunct Professor of Mechatronics (M.Tech) program offered by IIEST, Shibpur, India and Professor of AcSIR.
