About
I am a molecular Cell Biologist. My areas of interest are cancer biology, molecular cell biology, cell signaling, drug discovery & development, and biomedical technology development.
I am presently working as an Assistant Professor-III (Senior) at the School of Chemistry and Biochemistry, Thapar Institute of Technology, Patiala. I joined this institute back in August 2015. Currently, our research group consists of 3 Postdoctoral researcher, 8 Ph.D. students, and 1 M.Sc. dissertation student, 1 B.Sc. URF Student. We have published more than 60 original research articles, 7 book chapters, and 8 patents. 6 students completed their Ph.D. works, and 25 completed their M.Sc. dissertations under my supervision. I have also received multiple research grants from various funding agencies.
Earlier I did my postdoctoral research (July 2012-August 2015) at the department of medical oncology, Cedars Sinai Medical Centre, Los Angeles, California, USA. I was involved in studying the prostate cancer microenvironment to develop an early prognostic biomarker.
Further, I did my M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Biotechnology from the University of Calcutta, Kolkata, West Bengal, India. The topic of research during my Ph.D. was the development of antimitotic chemotherapeutics for the treatment of lung cancer.
