About
Dr. Nur Amin Hoque is a highly accomplished researcher in the field of Materials Science, currently serving as a National Postdoctoral Fellow at the Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science in Kolkata, India. He completed his educational journey at Jadavpur University, India, earning his B.Sc (Hons.) degree in Physics in 2011, followed by M.Sc degree in Physics in 2013. Dr. Hoque then pursued his passion for research and obtained a PhD in Materials Science from Department of Physics, Jadavpur University, India, in 2018.
Dr. Hoque has been awarded the prestigious SERB National Post-Doctoral Fellowship in 2022. He has also been honored with the 1st prize in Basic Science at the National Convention Anveshan 2017-2018, organized by the Association of Indian Universities(AIU).
His doctoral research focused on the development and characterization of advanced nanomaterials and polymer nano-composites. Following the completion of his PhD, Dr. Hoque embarked on a successful postdoctoral career, contributing significantly to the field. He worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Mohali, Punjab, India, from February 2021 to October 2022, where his research concentrated on the development of ultrasound transducers and photoacoustic sensors using highly piezoelectric thin films for biomedical imaging. Subsequently, from October 2019 to January 2021, he served as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Zhejiang University in Zhejiang, China, specializing in the fabrication of high-performance and durable piezoelectric and triboelectric nanogenerators for mechanical energy harvesting.
Currently, as a National Postdoctoral Fellow, Dr. Hoque continues his research at the Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science, focusing on the development and enhancement of wearable triboelectric nanogenerators for real-time healthcare monitoring. He is actively involved in modifying electrodes using carbon, polymer, and ion gel-based materials to create wearable devices capable of generating electricity from human motion and body heat. Additionally, Dr. Hoque is investigating the polarities of various durable materials to expand the triboelectric series, aiming to further improve the efficiency of energy harvesting.
With a strong educational background from Jadavpur University and diverse research experiences, Dr. Nur Amin Hoque has established himself as a respected researcher in the field of Materials Science. His expertise in advanced nanomaterials, polymer nano-composites, and energy harvesting technologies positions him as a valuable contributor to the development of innovative materials and devices for sustainable energy generation and biomedical applications.
