About
Dr. Emmanuel Simon is a Faculty member in the Department of Life sciences in University of Calicut, Kerala, India. His research integrates microbiology, biochemistry, molecular biology, and natural product research, with a primary focus on developing innovative therapeutic strategies to combat antimicrobial resistance (AMR).
His work centers on the discovery and characterization of bioactive molecules from microorganisms and medicinal plants, antimicrobial peptides, peptide–antibiotic combination therapies, bacterial metabolites, and host–pathogen interactions. He has a particular interest in biofilm inhibition, quorum sensing, microbial biotechnology, metabolomics, and LC–MS/MS-based characterization of biologically active compounds.
