Hi!

I am Richeek Debnath, BS-MS Dual Degree graduate in Chemical Sciences from IISER Berhampur, an autonomous institute under the Ministry of Education (formerly MHRD), Government of India. I completed my master's thesis at LCC CNRS, Toulouse, France, under the supervision of Dr. Vincent César. My research experience spans organometallic chemistry, organic synthesis, homogeneous catalysis, and small molecule activation. Most recently, I worked on the development of ruthenium NHC-thiolate complexes for dehydrogenative transformations at LCC CNRS. Previously, I conducted research at IIT Goa, Ruhr University Bochum (Germany), IISER Kolkata, and DSK Miranda House, gaining diverse experience across synthetic and catalytic chemistry.

My achievements include receiving the prestigious DAAD-WISE Scholarship (for internship), RESOLVE Cluster of Excellence Scholarship (for internship), NaNOX-INSA research grant (for MS thesis) , selection for ACS Fall 2023, where my work (published paper in IJFANS journal) was accepted for presentation. I was also recognized in the ACS Speaker Directory, qualified for the INSA-SRFP fellowship, and secured first rank in the National Graduate Physics Examination (NGPE) 2023, organized by IISER Berhampur. Additionally, I won second prize in IIST-ISRO's World Space Week Astrophotography Competition (advertisement shared by IISER Berhampur)

Talking about my skills and techniques are

Organic Synthesis,Titrations,crystallisation,purification,distillation,separation,column chromatography,thin layer chromatography, handling of air and water-sensitive chemicals, standard Schlenk line technique and use of a glovebox.,Interpretation of data from UV-Vis Spectroscopy, NMR Spectroscopy,Safe laboratory practices, handling, and disposal of chemical waste-basic knowledge in Python and LateX, Skilled in Chemical Analysis and visualization software like MNova and Chemdraw.Skilled in writing and managing software such as MS Office and Mendeley Setting up of a new laboratory space, including the ordering of new glassware, Laboratory instruments, and chemicals, and the setting up of a new solvent distillation setup and photochemistry setup.
