About
About Me
I am an architect, urban designer, academician, and researcher based in Indore. I hold a Master of Architecture in Urban Design from CEPT University (2010) and a Bachelor of Architecture from JNTU, Hyderabad (2000). With nearly two decades of professional experience and over a decade in academia, I have worked across architectural practice, urban design, consultancy, and teaching. I am currently an Associate Professor at Shri Vaishnav Institute of Architecture, SVVV, Indore, where I teach and coordinate architecture, urban design, and planning studios.
My interests lie at the intersection of architecture, urban design, nature, ecology, landscape, and human behaviour. I am particularly drawn to public spaces—parks, plazas, streets, neighbourhoods, waterfronts, and temporary spaces—where architecture and urban design can directly influence everyday life and contribute to the revitalisation of communities.
My research explores public space, urban ecology, landscape urbanism, urban regeneration, heritage, socio-spatial transformations, water and urbanism, informality, and the relationship between people and their built environment. I am especially interested in understanding the dynamics of Indian cities and how nature, culture, movement, memory, and everyday practices shape urban space.
As a teacher, I believe that good design begins with observation and understanding. I encourage students to look beyond form and understand the people, place, environment, and relationships that give meaning to a space. For me, urban design is about creating a dialogue between architecture, landscape, planning, ecology, and human life.
I aspire to continue bridging teaching, research, and practice, and to contribute to creating urban environments that are more sensitive to nature, responsive to people, and meaningful to everyday life. I believe that even a small intervention can make a difference when it is rooted in a genuine understanding of its context.
