About
Dr. Pradiptarathi Panda is an Assistant Professor at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Raipur. Prior to his tenure at IIM Raipur, he spent nine years at the National Institute of Securities Markets (NISM) engaged in teaching and research in financial markets. Starting as a Research Associate, he progressed to the position of Assistant Professor at NISM. Dr. Panda's research interests encompass Market Microstructure, Mutual Funds, International Capital Markets, Derivatives, and Innovative Financial Instruments. His teaching portfolio includes Financial Institutions and Markets (FIM), Market Microstructure-Trading and Investment in Equity and Equity Derivatives, Corporate Finance, Applied Financial Econometrics, Financial Computing using R and Python, Financial Derivatives, and Investment Management.
Dr. Panda has presented his research at numerous international and national conferences, participated in workshops, and organized several Faculty Development Programmes (FDPs). Notably, he initiated the Capital Markets Conference (CMC) at NISM in collaboration with the London School of Economics. He successfully coordinated four CMC and four SEBI NISM conferences during his tenure at NISM.
Currently, Dr. Panda serves as an Associate Editor for Asia Pacific Financial Markets, an official journal of The Japanese Association of Financial Econometrics and Engineering (JAFEE). Additionally, he holds the position of Treasurer at The Indian Econometrics Society (TIES). He is a founding member of the NISM Trading and Simulation Lab, established for experiential learning and trained market professionals and civil service officers. Dr. Panda Served as a visiting faculty at Gokhale Institute of Politics and Economics (GIPE), IIM Mumbai and XIM University.
Dr. Panda earned his Master of Finance & Control (MFC) from Berhampur University, an M.Phil. in Financial Markets from Pondicherry Central University, and a Ph.D. in Financial Markets from the University of Mumbai. He has also qualified the UGC NET. His Ph.D. thesis, titled "Stock Market Spillovers: Evidence from BRICS Countries," received the Best Doctoral Thesis Award at the IIF International Conference and Award Summit 2021, organized by the Indian Institute of Finance.
