About
I am a faculty member (Associate Professor) of the Department of Physics (UG & PG) at Prabhat Kumar College in Contai, affiliated with Vidyasagar University, Midnapore, West Bengal, India, with a specialization in cosmology, gravity, and high-energy theoretical physics. My research focuses on scalar-tensor theory (K-essence, DBI-essence, and Horndeski theory), Raychaudhuri equations, modified gravity (f(R), f(Q), f(Q,T), etc.), gravitational waves, dark matter, dark energy, quantum fields in curved spacetime, cosmic perturbations, and black hole physics, using analytical methods and observational data analysis. I have extensively worked on non-canonical gravity models, gravitational waves, black hole physics, and early-universe particle creation. As a committed educator, I teach mathematical physics, quantum field theory, general relativity, quantum mechanics, classical mechanics, particle physics, and thermodynamics. I serve as a Visiting Associate at the Inter-University Centre for Astronomy and Astrophysics (IUCAA) in Pune, as Honorary Faculty at IASES in Kolkata, and as a working group member of the COST Action, COSMOVERSE, in the European Union. I have guided five Ph.D. students, two of whom have already received their awards and three of whom are currently pursuing their research. My objective is to promote interdisciplinary research in fundamental physics and link theoretical frameworks with observations to demonstrate innovative physics beyond existing models. In my view, I strongly resonate with Professor Amal Kumar Raychaudhuri’s words: “If you do not do research, you cannot be a good teacher, and if you do not teach, you cannot be a good researcher.” This philosophy forms the foundation of my approach to both teaching and research.
