About
Research Interests:
My research interests encompass the development of novel antidiabetic agents, particularly through synthesizing selective PPAR-γ modulators. I employ molecular docking and dynamics simulations to investigate compound-receptor interactions, enhancing our understanding of drug mechanisms. Additionally, I specialize in pharmaceutical analysis, focusing on developing and validating analytical methods using HPLC and GC-MS to identify and quantitatively estimate pharmaceutical formulations. I also explore the pharmacological potential of natural products in cancer therapy, aiming to advance drug discovery and improve therapeutic strategies in diabetes and cancer treatment.
Key Areas of Expertise
• Leveraging In-Silico Techniques for Drug Discovery: Enhancing the success rate of drug design through molecular and pharmacophore modeling, molecular dynamics simulations, and virtual screening using tools such as AutoDock, AutoDock Vina, Chimera, Discovery Studio, Pyrex, PharmaGist, LigandScout, SwissADME, Osiris, PyMol, Open Babel, Desmond, and GroMacs.
• Computational and Experimental Exploration of Natural Resources: Identifying potential therapeutic agents for diabetes, cancer, and viral infections through high-throughput computational screening, followed by chromatographic isolation and structural characterization using IR, NMR, and Mass spectroscopy.
• Preclinical Evaluation of Drug Candidates: Conducting in-vitro and in-vivo studies to assess the efficacy and safety of anti-diabetic and anti-cancer herbal formulations, synthetic leads, and their analogues.
• Sustainable Organic Synthesis for Drug Discovery: Utilizing non-conventional energy sources to promote atom economy and minimize environmental impact in the synthesis of potential drug candidates.
• Analytical Method Development and Validation: Designing and validating UV spectroscopy, HPLC, and GC-MS methods for the quantitative estimation of pharmaceutical compounds in marketed formulations and biological matrices.
• Statistical Validation and Data Analysis: Applying statistical tools such as GraphPad Prism and SPSS for result validation and data interpretation.
• Research Funding and Grant Applications: Drafting compelling research proposals and grant applications to secure funding for innovative pharmaceutical research.
