About

Dr. Ankur Dwivedi is a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical, Materials, and Aerospace Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Dharwad, Karnataka, Bharata (India). Prior to joining IIT Dharwad, he worked as a Project Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at IIT Kanpur. Earlier, he served as a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Exeter, United Kingdom, on a project supported by the Royal Society–TATA University Research Fellowship.

Dr. Dwivedi earned his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from IIT Kanpur, India. His research expertise lies in solid mechanics and design. His research interests include mechanical metamaterials, structural dynamics and vibration control, elastic wave propagation, piezoelectric-based vibration energy harvesting, and multiphysics numerical modeling and analysis. His work integrates metamaterial science with structural mechanics to develop innovative, lightweight, and multifunctional engineering systems for aerospace and mechanical applications.

Throughout his academic career, Dr. Dwivedi has contributed to interdisciplinary research projects and authored numerous publications in leading international journals. His research encompasses the design, modeling, and experimental validation of advanced metamaterial and metastructure systems for vibration attenuation, wave manipulation, and energy harvesting applications.

Dr. Dwivedi actively serves the scientific community as a reviewer for several prestigious international journals, including Engineering Structures, International Journal of Mechanical Sciences, Mechanical Systems and Signal Processing, Nonlinear Dynamics, and Scientific Reports. He has also served as a reviewer for major international conferences, including those organized by ASME and ECCOMAS, in the fields of structural mechanics, smart materials, and mechanical metamaterials.
