About
Dr Gupta is a Chartered Member of the Institution of Structural Engineers (UK). He completed his PhD from K.U. Leuven (Belgium) in 2008 and worked in Industry for several years after that providing consultancy to various sectors including onshore civil and offshore oil and gas industry. He has worked extensively in the field of structural engineering with emphasis on dynamics and vibration, which has involved both theoretical and experimental aspects. He is engaged in teaching modules related to structural design and analysis.
His principal research interests are in the areas of structural dynamics and vibrations covering both theoretical and experimental aspects. His interest also lies in improving structural resilience and designing structures subject to extreme loads such as blasts, earthquakes and fires. He has worked on European funded as well as numerous Industry-sponsored consultancy projects.
