About
Dr. Rajasekhara Reddy Mutra received his Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering from the National Institute of Technology (NIT), Rourkela, India, in 2019. He is currently working as an Associate Professor in the School of Mechanical Engineering at VIT University, Vellore, India, where he has been serving since May 2019.
His current research interests include Rotor Dynamics, Vibrations and Control, Fault Diagnosis, Experimental Vibration Analysis, Finite Element Modelling, Optimization-based Design, Machine Learning, Internet of Things (IoT), and Bioimplants.
Dr. Mutra has published over 40 research papers in reputed SCI/Scopus-indexed international journals, presented more than 30 papers at international and national conferences, and authored four book chapters. He has been granted five patents and has five additional patents published by the Indian Patent Office.
He has successfully executed five research-funded projects supported by industries and research organizations such as DRDO, Honeywell, and Autodesk Pvt. Ltd. He also received an international collaborative research grant from Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Shah Alam, Malaysia.
Dr. Mutra is a recipient of the prestigious NAWA Fellowship (Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange) for a six-month research visit to the Institute of Fluid Flow Machinery, Polish Academy of Sciences, Gdańsk, Poland. He also received the VIT International Research Fund (VIN) Award 2022–23.
In recognition of his research contributions, Dr. Mutra serves as a peer reviewer for several international journals. He has delivered over 25 guest lectures and keynote talks in various faculty development programs, webinars, and workshops.
He is actively seeking collaborations in the areas of Machine Learning, Surrogate Modelling, IoT, and Image Processing for engineering applications
