About
Dr. P. Muthukumar received his M.Sc. degree in Mathematics from Gobi Arts and Science College, Bharathiar University, Coimbatore, India, in 2002. He earned his M.Phil. in Mathematics from Bharathiar University in 2006 and completed his Ph.D. at the Department of Mathematics, Gandhigram Rural Institute (Deemed to be University), Gandhigram, India, in 2009.
His research interests include control theory, stochastic differential systems, nonlinear control, and applications of dynamical systems.
Dr. Muthukumar has held several visiting positions internationally, including:
• Honorary Visiting Researcher with Prof. Rifki Sadikin and Prof. Ratna Surya Alwi at the Research Center for Computing at BRIN (National Research and Innovation Agency) Cibinong, West Java, Indonesia during September 29, 2025 to October 10, 2025.
• Visiting Faculty with Prof. Hieu Trinh and Prof. Samson Yu at the School of Engineering, Deakin University, Geelong Waurn Ponds Campus, VIC, Australia (May–June 2024 and August–September 2022)
• Visiting Faculty with Prof. Young Hoon Joo at the Research Center for Wind Energy Systems, Kunsan National University, Republic of Korea (May–July 2018)
• Visiting Faculty with Prof. Frank L. Lewis at The University of Texas at Arlington Research Institute, Fort Worth, TX, USA (August 2012–July 2013)
From 2010 to 2022, he served as Assistant Professor, and since 2022, he has been an Associate Professor at the Department of Mathematics, Gandhigram Rural Institute (Deemed to be University). He also served as a Resource Person in the 10-day In-Service Teacher Training Programme for Tamil Plantation School Teachers in Sri Lanka, organized by the Indian High Commission, Kandy, in December 2009.
Dr. Muthukumar has been recognized with several prestigious awards, including the IUSSTF Research Fellow 2012 Award from the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India, the UGC-SAP Project Fellow (2005), and the CSIR-SRF Award (2009).
