About

Mohit Kumar is a nuclear physicist and scientist at the Inter-University Accelerator Centre (IUAC), New Delhi, specializing in experimental nuclear physics and detector development. He completed his B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Physics from the University of Delhi and an M.Tech. in Opto-Electronics and Optical Communication from IIT Delhi in 2013. Before joining IUAC, he worked as an Assistant Professor at the University of Delhi.
His research interests include charged-particle detector development, particle identification, fast-timing measurements, heavy-ion reactions, fusion–fission dynamics, and nuclear reaction studies near the Coulomb barrier. He has contributed to the development and characterization of detector systems including multi-wire proportional counters (MWPCs), ionization chambers, silicon-based ΔE–E telescopes, and timing detectors, which are used in experimental facilities at IUAC.
He has also contributed to experimental studies involving fusion–fission, multinucleon transfer, neutron and charged-particle measurements, and reaction dynamics, with publications in journals including Nuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics Research A and Physical Review C.
