About
I have been working in the area of Plant Biotechnology since 1985. My initial work has been on cloning and genetic manipulation of various endangered Indian medicinal plants and sugarcane including the the production of artificial/synthetic seeds. Currently my interests include microbial biotechnology for exploring microbial enzymes suited for industrial applications, characterization of microbial and higher plant (mainly legumes) genetic diversity using molecular markers and physiology/biochemistry of stress exposed plants. Presently, I am holding the position of Professor and Director, School of Life Sciences and Biotechnology, Chhatrapati Shahu Ji maharaj University, Kanpur - 208024, INDIA
