About
Dr. Rahul Vilasrao Kadu has been serving as the Associate Dean, Institute of Sponsored Innovative Research (MIT-INSPIRE) at MIT Art, Design and Technology University, Pune, since October 2025. Prior to this role, he was an Associate Professor of Chemistry in the Department of Applied Science and Humanities, School of Engineering & Sciences, at the same university. Dr. Kadu holds a Ph.D. in Chemistry from The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda and completed his post-doctoral research at IISER Bhopal.
His research expertise spans organometallic chemistry, supramolecular chemistry, materials chemistry, and medicinal chemistry, with a strong emphasis on molecular design, crystallography, DFT studies, and bioactive compounds. He has published 20 peer-reviewed research articles in reputed SCI-indexed international journals, accumulating over 573 citations with an H-index of 13. He is also an author of book chapters and has also presented his research at 25+ national and international conferences and has served as a keynote speaker at international scientific meetings.
Dr. Kadu is a recognized research supervisor and has successfully guided two Ph.D. scholars (five Ph.D. scholars are working in the research group) along with several postgraduate research projects. He is the recipient of the InSc Young Researcher Award (2023) and has previously held UGC-JRF/SRF and IISER Post-Doctoral Fellowships. At MIT ADT University, he played key academic and administrative roles including Board of Studies member, Ph.D. coordinator, program coordinator, and chief sports coordinator, and is widely appreciated for his teaching excellence and student mentorship.
